Our Vision

We believe every autistic person deserves to feel valued, accepted, and supported. By listening to autistic voices and responding to community needs, we are building resources, activities, and projects—like our Sensory Bus—that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Together, we are creating a more inclusive Berkshire where families feel connected, supported, and understood.

About us

We are a small local charity with a big mission: supporting autistic people and their families across Berkshire.
Founded with the belief that every autistic person deserves understanding, support, and a safe space to thrive, Stand Out For Autism works closely with families, schools, and organisations to make our community more inclusive and autism-friendly.

Our Story

Stand Out For Autism was founded by Holly Clarke, a mum inspired by her middle son’s autism diagnosis in 2015. Over the past decade, the charity has run a variety of projects including stay-and-play groups, after-school clubs, youth clubs, holiday sessions, multi- sports activities, and autism-friendly football.

After a pause during COVID, the charity was reignited with a new Board of Trustees—three of whom are SEN mums. In February 2023, the Sensory Bus Project was launched, following an incredible fundraising effort that raised £40,000 through donations and grants.

The Sensory Bus officially began serving the community in November 2024.

Looking ahead

Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive Berkshire where families feel supported and autistic people of all ages can thrive.
